PROVOST

Dr. Francis Nwangbo Azunku is a distinguished Nigerian academic, administrator, and specialist in Agricultural Education, currently serving as the Provost of the Federal College of Education (Technical), Isu. Born on 3rd April 1973 in Okwerike Agbaja Izzi, Ebonyi State, he has dedicated his career to advancing education, research, and institutional development in Nigeria.

He holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Agricultural Education (2019) and a Master’s Degree in Agricultural Education (2008) from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Education (B.Sc Ed, Second Class Upper, 1999) from the Enugu State University of Science and Technology.

With over two decades of experience in teaching, research, and academic administration, Dr. Azunku rose through the ranks to become a Chief Lecturer before his appointment as Provost. Throughout his career, he has held several key leadership positions, including Chairman and member of various strategic committees, Vice Chairman of Academic Board, and head of accreditation and curriculum development teams. His contributions have significantly shaped teacher education, institutional reforms, and vocational training development.

He is a member of several professional bodies, including the Association of Vocational and Technical Educators of Nigeria (AVTEN), Curriculum Organization of Nigeria (CON), Agricultural Education Teachers Association of Nigeria (AETAN), and the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN).

Dr. Azunku has received numerous awards and recognitions for excellence in leadership, teaching, and community service. He was a beneficiary of the TETFund Academic Staff Training and Development Scholarship for his doctoral studies and has been honored by various academic and professional organizations.

A prolific researcher, he has published extensively in reputable local and international journals, with works focusing on agricultural education, climate change, entrepreneurship, curriculum innovation, and sustainable development. He has also participated in numerous national and international conferences and professional training programmes.

His areas of strength include teaching and research, educational administration, curriculum development, teacher training, leadership, and the effective utilization of ICT in education.

Dr. Azunku is deeply committed to community service and human capacity development. His guiding philosophy is captured in his motto:
